Before you play
Does it hurt?
Our strong foam-tipped arrows hit about as hard as a dodgeball, or less. The bows are powerful enough for indoor play but not enough to particularly hurt. Everyone wears high-quality masks and arm guards, and they stay on at all times.
Who can play?
Adults and children alike. Children's sessions are for ages 8+ and adult sessions for ages 14+. You need to be in good physical condition, and we can't let you play if you're pregnant. Every player must read and sign our online waiver before playing.
Do I need archery experience?
No. It's actually rare for us to have players with archery experience. Our staff train everyone before the games start, and the training is included in every session.
Do I need a team to play?
No. As well as group sessions, we run drop-in trial sessions you can come to on your own. There's usually a waiting list, so the next slot may be a month away.
How do the games work?
We start with full training. Game modes build from simple target shooting to full games against each other with equipment and bunkers, including our own games like Last Man Standing, 1v1s and Protection, where you guard a team-mate carrying a shield. The games get more exciting as the session goes on, and a champion is crowned at the end.
Where are you based?
We run indoor and outdoor sessions in and around Birmingham, mainly near Selly Oak, with venues in North and South Birmingham. We also travel to venues across Birmingham and the West Midlands, including Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Coventry.
Can you come to our venue?
Yes. We regularly travel to offices, schools, sports halls, fields and outdoor venues throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands, and handle equipment setup and pack-down.
How many people can take part?
Private games are ideal for groups of 10 or more, and we can accommodate much larger groups, from classes and year groups to big corporate events. Smaller group? Message us and we'll see what we can do.
Do I need to book?
Yes. We're open by reservation only. Private games are confirmed with a small deposit, and we recommend booking early, especially for weekends and school holidays.
Do you offer large-group rates?
Yes. Tag archery is great for team building, birthday parties, stag and hen parties and corporate events. If your organisation would like us to come to you, we can arrange that. Message us for a price.
What should I bring?
Comfortable workout clothes and your favourite trainers: you will get warm. Jeans and a fleece are not a good idea. If you wear glasses, that's fine, we have a range of masks to fit, or you can wear contact lenses.
What if we need to cancel?
Like sporting events and escape rooms, we don't normally refund last-minute cancellations, but we can usually reschedule your slot.
What if we're late?
Because of the number of bookings we run, we can't always give extra time after your scheduled end. Please arrive 10 minutes before your start time to check in.
How long do sessions last?
Trial sessions are 60 minutes of play. Private games come in 60, 75 and 90-minute packages, and event sessions can be tailored to your day.
What ages are school sessions for?
We adapt sessions for a wide range of ages in both primary and secondary schools.
Is it suitable for mixed fitness levels?
Yes. It's designed to be enjoyable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. You don't need to be sporty to contribute.
Do you run female-only sessions?
Yes. We can arrange female-only sessions with a female instructor when booked in advance.
